My Writing Spot

Hello friends!

For today's post I just wanted to share where I do all my writing related work! Everything happens here, my homework, my writing, my creepy web creeping, all of it! My desk, my favourite place at my house. I just put my headphones in, block everyone out and do my thing. It makes me happy sometimes when I'm in a bad mood, if I just sit here and scroll through my dash on Tumblr or Bloglovin' I usually forget what I was upset about in the first place.

My comfort place

My bedroom is basically my safe haven, if zombies ever attack I am nailing wood over my windows and buying a fridge and hiding out in my bedroom. My desk is relatively new, so I'm still obsessed with it. I've broken it in, as I've broken a small piece of it (oops). Oh well!
I always have a candle going when I'm at my desk (or anywhere in my house to be honest), right now I'm still using a Christmas scented candle it's Christmas Cookie by Yankee Candle! It smells so good, like a cookie factory in my room. It helps me relax and concentrate on what I'm doing whether it be my homework, studying, or writing a blog post. Candles are so comforting, they're a must at all times.

I like to keep pictures on my wall I have a picture of my parents back when they weren't parents because they look smoking and I have a few pictures of my friends from back home in Scotland up on my wall because I miss them on a day to day basis and it breaks my soul being so far away. I also keep a few of the pictures I got when I bought Taylor Swift's new album 1989, the ones with my favourite lyrics are up on the wall and she's flawless so I like to admire how perfect she is (girl crush). I need to keep a calander or else I won't remember anything, I keep all my school dates on there, my bills, my blog schedule, everything is on there! I would be lost without that calander.

Well, that's all for today! Hope you liked the mini tour of my writing domain.
Enjoy the day!

UGG Sheepskin Care Kit Review

Hello friends!

As some of you may know, I live in Canada! So we have lots of snow in the winter. This year I got my first pair of Australia Ugg boots and let me tell you, they are SO warm. I am completely, totally in love with them.

So where does the snow come in with owning a pair of Uggs? Well, with snow comes the salt they put on the roads to keep them less slippery and salt stains the boots! It looks super tacky and takes away from the cuteness that is those cosy, warm boots.

I was given the boots for Christmas and was also given the kit, the kit is $35.00 at Boathouse and it came with sheepskin cleaner & conditioner in one bottle, a bottle of sheepskin freshener, a bottle of sheepskin protector and a brush. I have only used the Protector once right after Christmas and the boots were in great shape, until last week. I noticed the salt started staining my boots so I decided I would use the cleaner and conditioner and then again the protector and let you know how the after look is!

 Before

(I know they aren't super awful looking, but I wanted to save my boots before they got worse)

I loved using this kit! I loved the smell, the colour didn't lighten or change after I used the cleaner and once I used the freshener any odour from my stinky piggies was gone! It left a sweet clean linen smell in my boots and it filled my room with the amazing scent! (I am a sucker for clean linen candles or anything that smells like fresh laundry). After I let the boots sit for 24 hours, I brushed the boots in one direction and it made them look brand new again! The cleaner smells like citrus almost, it isn't a very strong smell but you can tell it's there.

This is the brush that comes with the set, it works miracles! I used the side with the brussels and moved it in circular motions and it made the texture of my boots so soft! The chalk side will help to remove the most stubborn of stains (I promise it is worth it).

After

When these boots first became a trend I refused to buy a pair simply because I knew that no matter how much shoe protector I used, the salt would still stain my boots and make them look awful. I've used the protector twice now and both times it left my boots looking shiny and like a million bucks. My boots smell and look amazing, all at the cost of $35.00!  A lot of people have referred me to using this product because they say it allowed many more years of use out of the boots instead of them being ruined by salt in just one winter.

I gotta say guys, it works greats, smells awesome and doesn't break the bank. You can go to any shoe store and spend $15.00/$20.00 alone on suede shoe protector but with the UGG care kit you get the protector, freshener, and cleaner! It's awesome guys, I love it and my new looking boots! I 10/10 recommend buying this care kit guys, it will save your boots if you have to deal with lots of snow like myself.

Well, that's all for today my loves.

DIY Coffee Scrub

Hello Friends!

Last week one of my friends Baillie told me she tried this homemade coffee scrub for her skin, so I was intrigued and decided to try one of my own! It was super simple with very few ingredients, I didn't need to purchase anything.

To try this you will need
- 1/2 cup grinded coffee
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
-  1/4 cup olive oil (if you use coconut oil instead it will help decrease cellulite)
You can find recipes all over the internet, I got this one from Pinterest.

And when you try this you'll want to apply the scrub using a circular motion and leave it on for about 5 minutes then wash off using warm water!

I tried this guys and my skin feels so soft! The recipe I chose was to tighten my face, but I had lots left over so I put it all over me. My body feels like a babies butt! It feels so good and soft, it is also super easy to make which I love. After I washed the scrub I dabbed a towel lightly over my body so I wouldn't rub off the smooth oily feelings, then I put on my favorite moisturizer and my skin is to die for right about now.

Also, do be aware of the giant mess this shall make! If your parents are crazy clean freaks like mine, do this while they are at work.

Usually, my face is dry and often in the winter right above my lips will start to crack to the point of tears (it really hurts) but now my skin feels soft and brand new and I feel great! I truly reccomend trying this out! I took an after picture to show you how shiny and clean my skin looks as this picture hasn't had any editing done to it.

Well, that's all for today my loves.

Introductions

Hello friends! I am Kelsey, I’m new. I figured I would start my first blog post with a little introduction! I’m currently a college student aspiring to be a social worker for the youth, I want to help and make a difference for today’s youth! I’m nineteen years old, I like to party and when I don’t want to party I enjoy snuggling my giant teddy bear and watching Grey’s Anatomy.

Let me just explain my blog a little to you all. I’m going to write posts about 3 to 4 times a week, I will change the “must reads” on the right of my blog every month, I am going to try and post as many pictures to go along with the posts as I can between school and work. If I am doing a review on a product, there will 100% be photos so you know what I’m talking about!

In case you were wondering what I am even going to blog about (which I hope you are) I shall fill you in! Mostly, I will be writing about beauty product reviews, I will try to have a weekly discussion post which I plan to write about issues in life (if you ever have something you WANT me to write about, just ask). I love shopping so there shall be plenty of hauls! Including makeup, clothes, shoes, accessories, and skin care products. I’ll do a monthly review of my new favorite things to use, and then a monthly wish list for the next month! I will write about new staples for the upcoming seasons and occasionally I’ll write about a day in the life of me, give you all a step by step on what I do to be ready for the day/what I’m doing that day/or what I had done that day. I am going to make this blog with as many possibilities to write about as possible. Thanks for reading all, I hope everyone has a great day!

 Love, Kels
